Room at the moored boat

Facts found

A and B reach north on starboard tack, overlapped, with B the inside boat between A and a moored motor cruiser lying ahead of them. B is about a length off the cruiser's side. A luffs from a beam reach up to close-hauled and holds it there. B cannot come up without going into the cruiser, and bears away hard to get out from between them, passing within a foot of A as she goes. The boats do not touch. B protests.
