A1 and A2 are on the same team and come down to the leeward mark overlapped, A2 to windward and inside. A2 is slow to come up as the pair start to round, and A1 has to alter course to stay out of her way. The two boats never touch — the closest they come is about a third of a hull length. B3, from the other team, is following them in a couple of lengths astern, sees the whole thing, and flies a yellow flag against A2 the moment she is round.
