Telltale

The engine that measures your race, from your own track.

What it measures

  1. Your race, from your own track

The log from whatever GPS you sail with, and the course you confirm. No wind instrument needed.

  2. Against the boats you raced

You against the leader, the top of the fleet and boats like you, on the same water. Not a polar, not a stranger’s numbers.

  3. Part by part

Your start, every turn and rounding, and every leg, each with the distance it gained or lost you.

Why every number has a ±

No GPS places a boat exactly, so each number carries a ± for how sure Telltale is: where the ± is as big as the number, read it as too close to call.

Your numbers may change

Telltale is in alpha, so your races are measured again as it improves, and your files are never touched.

What’s new

  • Your start, measured: how far back you were at the gun, your speed, and how the line was biased.
  • Every part of your race in seconds, adding up to your time behind at the finish.
  • Your debrief leads with the moment that went worse than your usual one.
  • And more accurate numbers throughout.
